Stephen W. Adair

Steve Adair

Practice Emphasis:

Mr. Adair is a partner in the Fort Wayne firm and has more than 40 years of experience in the areas of estate planning, taxation and probate law, along with Medicaid estate planning, administration, and elder law issues. He is certified as an Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation. He has lectured before professional and civic groups on topics relating to Elder Law, including wills, powers of attorney, living wills, trust and asset protection planning. He has presented seminars certified for continuing education credits for CLU’s, attorneys, and others. Mr. Adair devotes his practice to advising people regarding the management, preservation, and protection of their assets. He enjoys helping individuals and families establish and accomplish suitable goals in the area of asset management and protection and regarding the making of health care decisions for a disabled individual. Planning in this area is something that virtually every individual and family needs; whether it be deciding how assets should be used for minor children if both parents were to pass away, planning for or dealing with the onset of an illness which makes long-term care necessary for an individual either in a nursing home or a home setting, or helping finalize a loved one’s affairs. Mr. Adair is the department head of the Elder Law and Trust & Estate Planning Sections at Beers Mallers Backs & Salin, LLP. From 2008 – 2012 Mr. Adair was nominated and selected as a “Super Lawyer” by his state Elder Law colleagues, and for 2011 and 2012 Steve was also named ”Best Lawyer” for Elder Law.  He is also an accredited attorney for the preparation, presentation, and prosecution of claims for Veterans Benefits before the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
