Mr. Walston is a partner in the firm of Beers Mallers Backs & Salin and is located in the Warsaw branch office.  He has more than 40 years of legal experience in private and corporate practice.  For more than 25 years, Wayne served as corporate legal counsel in telecommunications for the Sprint Corporation. Before his retirement from Sprint in 2001, Wayne served as Regional Vice President General Counsel – External Affairs. He and his 75 member staff handled Sprint’s regional responsibilities for legal, regulatory, legislative, governance, and corporate communications matters for New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois.  Following retirement from Sprint, Wayne commenced an elder law practice in 2003.  He advises seniors and persons with disabilities on estate planning, asset protection, and life care matters.  Wayne has published articles and spoken extensively to attorneys, advisors, and others in numerous local, state, and regional venues on matters affecting seniors and persons with disabilities.  He was named a 2008 Indiana Super Lawyer and a 2009 and 2010 Indiana Leading Lawyer by his state elder law colleagues. He was also named among the Best Lawyers in America 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 by his nationwide elder law colleagues.  Wayne is also an accredited attorney by the Veterans Affairs enabling him legally to counsel veterans and their families on compensation and pension benefits for qualifying wartime veterans.
