W. Wayne Walston

Mr. Walston is a partner of Beers Mallers Backs & Salin and is located in the Warsaw branch office. He has more than 39 years of legal experience in private and corporate practice. For more than 25 years, Wayne served as corporate legal counsel in telecommunications for the Sprint Corporation. Before his retirement from Sprint in 2001, Wayne served as Regional Vice President General Counsel – External Affairs. He and his 75 member staff handled Sprint’s regional responsibilities for legal, regulatory, legislative, governance, and corporate communications matters for New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. Following retirement from Sprint, Wayne commenced an elder law practice in 2003. He advises seniors and persons with disabilities on estate planning, asset protection and life care matters. Wayne has published articles and spoken extensively to attorneys, advisors and others in numerous local, state, and regional venues on matters affecting seniors and persons with disabilities. He was named a 2008 Indiana Super Lawyer and a 2009 and 2010 Indiana Leading Lawyer by his state elder law colleagues. He was also named among the Best Lawyers of America 2009 and 2010 by his nationwide elder law colleagues.
