Our firm traces its roots back to 1901 with the founding of Kennerk & Somers. 1984 saw the merger of Dumas Backs Salin & Vegeler (originally Kennerk & Somers) with Adair Perry Beers Mallers & Larmore, leading to the creation of Beers Mallers Backs & Salin, LLP. Our firm has more than doubled in size since then, a testament to the results we achieve for our clients and the level of service we provide.
Our clients range from individuals and families to Fortune 500 companies. We handle all legal matters that impact our clients’ business, personal and professional lives. This includes business and corporate law, real estate and land use, employment law, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy, elder law and Medicaid planning, estate planning and administration, litigation, and municipal law. The majority of our clients are located in Northeast Indiana; however, we are licensed to practice in Michigan and have numerous clients in the tri-state area (Indiana, Michigan and Ohio) and from throughout the United States.
Today, Beers Mallers consists of 27 attorneys and 32 staff members and administration, 47 of whom work in our Fort Wayne office. Pete Mallers is Managing Partner of the firm, and is joined by Steve Adair, Bill Fishering, Dan Leininger, Kurt Bachman and Charles Backs, Senior Partners, and members of the Executive Committee. Also, Bill Fishering has been the Allen County attorney since the mid-1970s, and Kurt Bachman has served as the attorney for the LaGrange County Commissioners, the Towns of Shipshewana and Fremont, and manages our LaGrange office. Dan Leininger, serves as partner and manager of our Warsaw office. Andrew Grossnickle and Dick Green serve as partners and manage our Syracuse office.
Driven by a commitment to excellence and family.
King Solomon, a man renowned for his wisdom, once said: “A good name is to be valued more than good wealth.” At Beers Mallers we couldn’t agree more. We value the reputation we have earned over the years; and work tirelessly to preserve and build upon it each and every day.
All of our attorneys and staff are encouraged to grow professionally while maintaining a balanced personal and family life. We have established and maintained a family-oriented environment and are committed to our loved ones, churches, synagogues, and community. In addition, we have a long-standing tradition in the political arena. Several of our attorneys have been active in politics, and our firm has been the legal home of a former U. S. Congressman and a former U. S. Ambassador.
Our law firm family welcomes the opportunity to utilize our energy, mastery of the law and commitment to serving our clients on behalf of you and your family.
