Janell is a partner and member of the Estate Planning and Elder Law sections at Beers Mallers. Her legal practice focuses on Medicaid planning, asset preservation, estate planning and administration, probate, special needs planning and trusts, and guardianships. She has extensive knowledge in the area of long-term care planning and protection of assets, including the use of irrevocable asset protection trusts, and Miller Trusts. Janell is also qualified to counsel individuals in applying for long-term care benefits, such as Veterans Affairs (VA) Aid and Assistance, Medicaid, and Medicaid Waiver. She is involved in various community organizations including being the board president of the Fort Wayne-Allen County Community Center Foundation, a member of the Council on Senior Services, a volunteer attorney during Write a Will Week, a reoccurring guest on PBS Fort Wayne’s Life Ahead, and a contributing author to Allen County’s Senior Life Newspaper and Business Women of Northeast Indiana.
Outside the office, Janell loves traveling with her husband and three children. She also enjoys hiking, running, and trying new local restaurants with friends.
